Your Family Resource Center invites you to join us for "The Power of Parents" on Tuesday, April 16 at 6pm in Room F-23 and receive a FREE Meal Gift Card! This presentation is another of the three Key programs in MADD's underage drinking and drug prevention initiative and addresses how to communicate with your teenagers about drinking alcohol and using marijuana which has been shown to reduce drinking behaviors by 30%! The Hawaii International Film Festival —the biggest and Academy Award qualifying festival in Hawaii-- ‘Ōpio Fest April 5-7 — a three-day family event where short films made by young people in Hawai’i is coming soon!

Former Milken award winners and Kailua-Kalaheo Complex Area Superintendent Lanelle Hibbs presented KHS science teacher Rebecca Katz with the Kailua-Kalaheo Complex Area 2024 prestigious Milken Teacher of Promise Award. The Teacher of Promise Award is granted annually by the Milken Educators of Hawai‘i — a select group of Hawai‘i educators who have been recognized by the nationally renowned Milken Family Foundation — to a classroom teacher for demonstrating outstanding commitment and potential during their first three years with the Hawai‘i State Department of Education.
